CLAYTON, N.C. -
A Clayton man was arrested Monday in Concord, N.C. almost five months after police say he allegedly sexually assaulted a 3-year-old girl.
Police say 50-year-old Roger Dale Benton was wanted for an offense that allegedly occurred on or about February 5 in Clayton.
Benton was arrested Monday morning by Concord Police officials on a charge of first degree sexual offense. Benton's wife, 49-year-old Sarah Furr Benton was also arrested and charged with being an accessory after the fact.
The Benton's are being held in Cabarrus County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond pending their return to Johnston County.
Information regarding the alleged offense that occurred in February was not released.
